The CDC, along with other organizations, has released the 2012 recommended immunization schedule for children and adolescents. The schedule has not changed much from previous years for most children. Most of the changes are clarifications of current recommendations.
Changes include:
- MMR vaccine should be given to infants 6-11 months old who are traveling internationally.
- HPV vaccine is now recommended in males as well as females.
- Tdap use in children 7-10 years old who are behind on vaccines has been updated and clarified.
